Just as your Heart must beating in order to provide what its responsible for your body, so is your brain in its natural way produce thoughts every day, even while you are sleeping. Science studies came to a conclusion that each person has an average of 6,000 thoughts per day. So the next time you try to guide yourself through a meditation and aim to stop your thinking or quite your mind, try NOT to think of a green monkey riding a pink elephant (I have talked about that before). The idea of not stopping your thinking is something which the brain will do its best to resist you from achieving that goal. The Velocity of your thoughts is influence by the way you manage your life and how you are handling your events throughout your day. There can be moments where you day dreaming and your thoughts are flying high as a jet plane and you detach yourself from any sense to hold to the reality of your life, not aware of the tasks in front of you and occupied yourself with things which has no foundations in your life. So when you take yourself to a meditative space your awareness already holding with something that needs to find itself down and to land back to a reality. Other times, when life events can be too overwhelm or chaotic, while you have different tasks in your hands, your brain can work as a busy station of trains that crossing each other, and if not giving the right attention, they will end up with empty wagons and more trains will show up as a result of that. Many in the fast speed world that we are living, trying to do so much throughout the day, to achieve many things, and the thoughts are like racing cars, and if not providing the proper guidance, then those racing thoughts will exhaust you, or drain your energy and will take you off your personal balance. The rate in each day always change, even if you don’t do anything, your brain still manufacturing thoughts in variety of levels and according to your state of mind. Your state of mind can control the rate of your thoughts and that personal awareness will give you the personal skills to handle any task at hand in any level of business. Your state of mind can direct the pace of your thoughts and to build resilience in any event of any day. Because you cannot quite your mind, your state of mind can guide your brain to slow your thoughts. That is the goal: find within yourself how to slow your thoughts. Just like when a driving car coming to a red traffic light, its engine is not stop working but came to a slow working point, while still doing everything that still needs to be done to maintain the car working. This slow energy still create movement and conserving the energy in a better way. This is a place between slow to stillness but is never stop. The next time you eat a burger ask yourself to give attention in each bite that you take for one ingredient of the sandwich. The practice of slowing down your thoughts can be apply to all aspect of your life and will help you to ground your energy, especially your Root Chakra and your Crown Chakra and like that will provide a balance for your performance and better quality with any of your activities. Slowing your thoughts will give you the benefit of observing everything that is around you from a safe relax place and with no or less stress or anxiety.
