Just as in nature you can find different kinds of trees, so is the types of families which are around you. Take a moment in Zen, and look around you, reflect to yourself the type of family which you are belong to by the similarity to what exist in nature and that similarity can give you a certain perspective of the internal world of your own family and how the possibility for that family to keep grow by the similarity with nature. This point of view can give you some patience and tolerance with certain experiences that you are part of, and to seek to find from you the better way to create something more healthy and more fruitful, no matter where you came from. There are those trees with thin trunk, small trunk or those who grow a big trunk, while in their presence you can feel the beating Heart of the pure core spirit that has live within for many years which can reflect upon some families that drive their essence to be the spirit life for those that around them. There will be those trees which will let go of their leafs and renew with others, while other trees will hold their leafs, and so are those families which strive to hold always together. There are trees which grow deep strong roots, deep into the ground as fast as they can, and like that you can find some families which there roots goes far far in years. Other trees have small roots, or spread their roots under the surface, but not going deep or long at all, and like that their are those families which their roots are lacking of strength or history. There are trees which compare to many others, have some natural benefits for many to benefit from like barring fruits or nuts, flowers or providing oil, and like that those families which will care to do more for others to nourish from. Other trees don’t carry many branches or their branches are as of a willow tree that reach back to the ground, while others provide lots of branches and as tall as they can grow, as well as comfort within their space for other species, and like that you can find those families which will welcome others under their roof and share with them what they have. As each tree is grounded and connected to the ground, each tree has its own way to grow and to reach the skies while the sun, the moon, the clouds are above but providing life to that tree, so it is for each family outside sources that care with blessings. Along with that, there are the seasons of the year which for each tree, and so for each family, the strength to go through the seasons with its own ability to survive. There are others elements which each tree face in some level, like wind, soil, water, fire, and those elements are the emotions that will come for each family in many ways. Each element always will appear at some point. Those elements, like emotions, which appear in a level that the core family can handle, or appear in more large amount then the tree can handle, and so is the family. While each tree , like a family, stand and can be identify, from above you can see the beauty of the forest and how wonderful it is together as one big great family. Those many symbols are the basic Zen resemblance to the family which you belong, but always remember that you have the seed to create your own.
